Overview

Fluid coupling on Transfluid’s industrial transmission product KPTO.
A fluid coupling consists of a few components, additionally the hydraulic fluid:

The housing, also known as the shell[five] (which must have an oil-limited seal all around the travel shafts), consists of the fluid and turbines.
Two turbines (fanlike elements):
1 connected to the enter shaft acknowledged as the pump or impeller,[five] major wheel[5] input turbine
The other linked to the output shaft, known as the turbine, output turbine, secondary wheel[5] or runner
The driving turbine, identified as the ‘pump’, (or driving torus[a]) is rotated by the key mover, which is typically an inner combustion engine or electric powered motor. The impeller’s motion imparts equally outwards linear and rotational movement to the fluid.
